The boy fell and though Hattori did well to hide it he was somewhat impressed by how Kuroki took the hit. It must have hurt and he'd no doubt have bruises come next morning, but rather than submit it was clear he was down, but not out just yet. Perhaps he needed a little more persuasion, something Hattori was willing enough to oblige.

He saw the white flash of his teeth and dipped aside, aiming to dodge the attack and wallop him upside the head with another heavy swipe of his paw. If the attack landed it would ring his senses, rattle his brain about in his skull but would likely do no lasting damage. Aside from knock some reason into the boy, he hoped.
