He had dashed towards her, and when he hit he found her shoulder in his throat. It hit just to the side and didn’t crush his windpipe. His heartbeat picked up as he realised this was the first time in a very long time he had found himself in a serious fight. Mortis wasn’t a fighter, but he was a protector. All he wanted to do was get to Gossys prone form. He was never going to forgive himself for not jumping on the fight immediately. Fool that he was, he never picked aggression as his first option.

His wings, aching and sore as they were, were still a main fighting component for Mortis. He aimed to thwack the bone ridge against his opponents head as she aimed to attack the base of his wing. His claws once they found purchase dug in. Attempting to distract her as he aimed to grab the back of her neck in his teeth.
