Bluelights [Hudson]

She’d been unable to sleep, and after a long walk after informing Ardyn she was going out, Legacy set eyes upon a brightly moonlit valley she’d heard called Emerald Valley. Brightly lit by the moon, and by multitudes of glowing plants, more apparent from her vantage point than they would have been up close.

Other glowing forms shifted in the blue-purpled night—animals of the smaller Kind. Where normally they’d have been hidden in the dark, the strange anomalies of this winter’s event made them stand out in shades of blue or purple, sometimes both. And everywhere she looked, there were fireflies, shining and flashing cold blue.

Legacy drew in a breath and made her way down a trail, glad for the snug warmth of the deer pelt and large pouches on either side. Less about the warmth, really, and more about the comfort the items brought.

Pausing at a cluster of Motherwort, she bent to examine the stand, sniffing to see if the glow changed the scent at all, or if the change was just cosmetic. The plant itself blazed in almost pulsating blue light, and she hesitated to cut any of it, frowning in thought as she considered the best way to test the foliage affected by … whatever this was that was going on in the world.

Maybe her mother would know a bit about this? The Nomads would surely be investigating this anomaly closely.
