Pity Party (Party and Races!)

Skadi was feeling pretty good about this whole spar/race/spar/race thing she'd gotten into and as she waited for her first opponent she hopped from foot to foot to warm up. Her balance was a little funky, she noticed, but she felt great and any misgivings that should have caused were tossed aside in favor of an unearned feeling of confidence. She had this; this would be no sweat.

Her opponent, the older boy Ulfr, charged at her and Skadi playfully dipped into a play bow. She was up suddenly and streaking towards him as fast as her unsteady legs could carry her. In a burst of supreme confidence she sought to slam the side of her chest and neck into Ulfr's front legs. Her goal was to buckle them thereby toppling him. That he might fall on her didn't even cross Skadi's mind. She was just having a blast.

Skadi's all out committed shove displaced Ulfr's bite. It landed on top of her shoulders and earned him a mouthful of loose skin, fur, and spicy blood. She didn't think Ulfr knew about her weird condition so he was in for a treat. Some wolves were barely affected but others devolved into a snotty mess of drool and tears.
