Changing Winter

Her heart thudded in her chest a bit more than it probably should from the quick startle Serenity had given her, but everything startled her more than it should these days. She nodded in agreement when Serenity said how it was better that she was here, thinking the same about Serenity. "Yes, I'm glad I'm not out here alone either," she replied, glancing around at the garden that was steadily beginning to glow brighter and brighter as time went on. Some of the fireflies that had been seemingly everywhere since mid winter started to pop up around them, lazily floating by from plant to plant, seemingly looking for something to do like they were bored.

Then she saw a few of them start to move toward a certain part of the garden and she gave a curious tilt of her head. She glanced toward Serenity again before padding around a dense section of the garden so she could see what was going on. When she peeked around the edge of one of the hedges she saw what looked like a whole family of rabbits sitting in the middle of a small clearing, but her brows lifted with surprise when she saw them. They were all glowing some shade of blue or purple, their fur no longer the usual tan or brown. One of them looked toward her with glowing eyes and she gasped, jumping back behind the cover of the hedge.
