Lachlan wasn’t sure he had tasted a strong beverage since the night he had met Tyrian, so when the liquid was offered the young man sipped lightly. Or he thought he did. By the time the bear races were on he might have been swaying just a little and if he had a conversation the slurring words would be quite noticeable.
He followed his favorite wolf out onto the border as he gathered his runners and paired them off. He stumbled over some kind of prize, but as long as he had a little alone time with Tyrian at the end of the night he’d feel like the winner. Pale blue eyes found his ‘partner’ with a challenging look over his features. Lachlan wanted to earn Tyr’s undying gratitude for himself.
Without any words or anything much more than a nod the half drunken boy raced eastward. He was a third focused on winning the race, a third focused on finding a bear, and a third focused on just keeping his paws beneath him.
