It must be something in the water

It would have been an normal occurrence to stumble upon the energetic and curious pup as he roamed the nook, chasing fireflies and setting for himself unattainable challenges as pups often did, but tonight catching Veigar in his playing did not amuse timid Aryn, it set a pit of worry deep in her stomach and she couldn't quite put her paw on why. The fireflies danced past his paws, seemingly disappearing into vapor if ever the exuberant hunter did manage what should have been a clean catch. They lit his already faintly glowing pelt in an eerie blue tint, and as Aryn stepped closer she noticed a few spots of glowing fungus further in the trees. Once she'd caught sight of the boy she was not willing to continue back to her den, not if it meant leaving a child alone in the middle of the night surrounded by what Aryn could not confirm nor deny was the supernatural. She tried to keep the worry out of her voice, forcing a soft smile and coming up alongside him. "Not having much luck? Have you tried waiting to see if they'll land at all?" Even this close to the 'insects', Aryn could hear no buzz nor the flap of wings. The fur along her spine began to stand on end and she took a single unsure step backwards.
