There really wasn't much holding the yearling home now that she was finally back and settled with her mother and siblings. She couldn't help but wonder where her father had ran off to, but didn't want to press her mother or siblings too hard on the matter. They seemed sensitive about it, so she would remain innocent and naive although she really wanted to know.
She thought that if she went out looking every day, maybe she would find him on her own or maybe find some clues and solve the mystery! It was that reason alone that she left the safety of Habari and moved eastward, chasing after those silly fireflies she'd seen last time she wandered out. They were running from her it seemed, the swarm keeping just out of reach the entire time she chased them. Laughter rang out as she chased, finding the bugs to be of no harm and really just pretty to look at.
However, she didn't expect to follow them to a place that would be scary. She hadn't thought a second thought when she barrelled into the crypt, unaware that even a thing existed and was to be feared. As she slid through the narrow doorway, chasing the bugs, the was surprised to find that the room she had entered was now dark and the bugs were not in fact in there, although she had just chased them. She was certain they should be in here, but they weren't and it was pitch black and scary.
Fortune scrambled, fear bubbling over and desperately she sought to escape the room full of bones and darkness. When she finally pulled herself out, she crawled away panting heavily and shaking somewhat from the fear and adrenaline. The bugs had been harmless until now, why would they lead her to such a scary place?
