She could tell the boy was dejected and offered him a comforting smile as he admitted his failure. In truth, Aryn was not sure if sitting patiently would help in the lightest - fireflies made their glow to ward off predators or attract mates, and they avoided brightly lit areas for those reasons. Veigar may not have been brightly lit, but his glow was noticeable especially when he was angry as he was now. Anyways, these weren't any normal sort of fireflies. He leaned against her and she returned the pressure against him with her shoulder and head. "Try and calm yourself, you glow much fainter when you aren't so riled up and it may scare them." She counselled him softly. It was easier said then done, of course, especially as Aryn could not take her own advice and calm her own frantic heartbeat in the face of the odd night changes. "If we remain still, they may come and hide in the grass as the yellow fireflies do." That was, if they were fireflies at all. Her muzzle tilted up toward the sky, where the moon still loomed full and the stars streaked unnaturally. Chances were, these were not at all the type of fireflies to take a break on a thick blade of grass.
