When he started asking questions about the bones, whether they were fresh or not, she started shaking her head almost frantically. How was she supposed to know? She didn't stick around long enough to find out and certainly didn't want to poke her head back in for a second look. If he was so curious, he should check. It was almost as soon as she thought it, he stuck his head in the fucking hole before saying he was going to go in an asked if she wanted to stay behind. Well, to be honest, she didn't really want to be out here alone either. Finally someone had come along and she thought she would be safe, protected from the now-deemed-evil fireflies, and would be led safely back home by this brave young man.
But, why was she surprised? Like every other boy he wanted to go and get dirty, investigate some spooky shit, and leave a poor girl out scared in the dirt alone. How heroic was that? Fortune scowled up at the larger boy, refusing to be left behind even if it meant going back into the nope room. "Alone in the dark, with those mean bugs everywhere? No, thank you," she scoffed, rising to her white gloved paws. Hopefully he took the hint to escort her home like a fine gentleman, but something told her she'd be getting pulled into the crypt before she'd be getting taken home.
