The man sat and looked over at her with a grin. 'If I was more superstitious I might tell ya it's the end of the world'. She chuckled like him, but his words made her feel a little more nervous than she appeared outwardly. These weird changes could be harmless, but they could also be the start of something really bad. Maybe everything would get poisonous too eventually, not just change color. Or maybe a million other things. It was the not knowing what was going to happen that bothered her the most. She needed some degree of knowledge to feel safe and in control.

"No. That would mean I knew anything at all about this," she said wryly. "I was just hoping someone did." But it was a complete mystery so far.
