He hadn't really been to the islands that surrounded Boreas. But this would be the first. The spit of land that connected it to the mainland made it a little easier, though it was a waiting game since he had to wait until low tide to cross. It took a while, but when he touched the ground of the island, he wasn't disappointed by what he saw. Just like on the mainland, everything here was glowing. From the water that touched the shore, to the crabs that scuttled across the sand and the plants that stretched across the island. Not only that, but moon was bigger and brighter than ever. Leaving a sense of wonder and mystery over the island, almost as if inviting him to explore. He was mainly here to check out the hunting here. He heard from loners that there were some harder-to-get goats on the island and if there was anything he liked, it was a challenge. He would find these goats, and he would bring one down on his own. Well...with the help of his companions, anyway. The lynx was certainly more nimble than he was, so he was sure depending on where the goats were found, he'd definitely need the help.

However, as the trio went further onto the island, he started to hear strange sounds, and they definitely weren't goat sounds. It sounded similar to the owl he had, but also...different. He was aware that different species had different calls, but this one still sounded owl-ish. Or he assumed it was an owl, anyway. He couldn't help but to wonder if it was a sign...after all...he had been nicknamed The Wing in the Darkness by his father...and despite his built up hatred for Tyranis and Leera, he had kept the name if only to have something that made him who he was. He was an avid hunter of the night, after all. It suited him perfectly, ironically enough.

Deciding to follow the sound, he moved quietly through the trees, causing the underbrush to glow with his touch as he swept by them. The call was getting louder, and as he reached a clearing, he spotted it. A massive owl sat in a hole in a tree that stood in the clearing, its feathers glowing a mixture of purples, blues, and greens. It was bigger than his own companion, and if he had to guess, almost as big as himself if not bigger. It was hard to tell from where he was on the ground, but he watched it carefully in case this big, glowing creature tried to attack him for intruding on its island.

The owl however, cocked its head as it regarded him. "Who! Who!" It demanded, though not in the usual owl fashion. His ears fell back against his head as the owls voice boomed. Wondering if he was supposed to answer. "Tyto!" He felt he sounded silly answering, but he'd rather play it safe than sorry. The owl seemed to hum as it continued to regard him, as if it was thinking about his answer. "Tyto...named after mine kind. A Wing in the Dark..."

What? How did this owl know? "Follow!" The owl demanded as it spread its massive wings and lifted from its perch. It took off into the air, making a beeline for the mountains behind it. Tyto watched him fly off for a moment in stunned silence before he kicked himself into gear. As he raced after the owl, the plants and fireflies he passed were all a blur. The stars above even seemed to be racing with him, but all the while he kept his eyes on the glowing bird ahead of him.

He felt like he'd been running for a while before he finally caught up, and by the time he did, the owl was already standing at the mouth of a wide cave in the side of the mountain. "You are lost." Confused, Tyto stood there with narrowed eyes. "I'm not lost. I followed you just fine!" He retorted. What did he mean by that, anyway?

"You. Are. Lost. Your spirit does not know where it is, Tyto Praetor."

"How...how did you know my name? I didn't tell you the whole thing..." That definitely took him by surprise.

"I know all. Nothing is hidden. Your spirit is confused. You wish for family, and yet...they have all abandoned you. Even your own sister after you made the decision to fight for her. Ah, but you did not voice that. So she left you behind. No one to fight for you...no one to care."

"Th-that's not true! She didn't abandon me...she just...she wasn't happy with what was going on, that's all." Lies. He'd been trying to convince himself of that, but the truth was...she had abandoned him the moment she caught wind that Ignis had left. Hadn't even bothered to tell him she was leaving. And that had hurt him more than anything...her leaving without a word...after all that time...after everyone else had abandoned him...she was the one he least expected.

The owl flashed his feathers, ruffling them which caused them to pulse brightly. "You cannot lie to me. I. Know. All. You are hurt. Confused. Though there is...one...that you think about...A girl you've known since puphood...though you are not close, you yearn for her company, do you not?"

How did he know about Caelia? He would have been content with the idea that this...strange, glowing owl was making it up. But the fact he mentioned his sister and then Caelia of all things...he knew the Owl somehow knew these things about him. He was lost in a sense. Unsure if he even wanted to still keep his family name. They had given him nothing but strife and loneliness. Even his own, damned sister. He didn't know what to say. He did often think about Caelia...even though they weren't close...he enjoyed her company the rare times they did come across one another.

"Inside the cave...you'll find something to help you. I gift this to you as well," The owl moved forward and produced a glowing crystal necklace, a pulsing blue light emanating from it. The owl placed it around his neck before stepping back a moment, lifting the wolf's head with its wing. "It is fate, you were brought here. You must move forward, or you will always be lost. Do what you must to find yourself, even if just a small piece. Hatred can consume, and can breed more hatred...don't forget."

Stepping back again, the owl opened its great wings and took off into the air, leaving the stunned wolf behind. Though Tyto was still unsure what to make of the whole ordeal, he quietly made his way into the cave, searching for what the owl said was for him. He found a wrapped bundle after a few minutes of searching, but he opted not to open it there. He figured he'd ought to wait until he got back to the main land before checking to see what it was...
