Smells like teen spirit

Aris slammed into him and got the grip she wanted, hind claws gouging. She should have realized that it was too easy, that he had let her get in that position. The fact was made abundantly clear when the larger wolf slammed her into the ground. With her hind legs tucked up between them mid-clawing it did keep his full weight from slamming down on her, but she still hit the ground hard, and her jaws opened automatically in a gasp. She was tenacious in seeking to keep her grip with her claws though it might have been better for her if she'd let go and used them to fend off his jaws. Instead of thinking though - a problem she admittedly had in many facets of her life - she snapped her aching head forward like a snapping turtle, seeking to interrupt his bite with her own, aimed right for his tender nose.
