As you hit the water, the layer of algae seemed almost to try to preemptively scatter away from you before you could land atop it. It seems almost as if it recoils from your touch - but that's impossible, right? Nevertheless, the bioluminescent greenery is much easier to shake from your pelt then you'd expect it to be.
Maybe you shouldn't have done that...
