The girl, much lighter and nimbler than he, stepped just past him as he came crashing down onto the ground, his large paws landing with a resounding ‘thump’. Out of the corner of his glowing gaze, he watched her curl her head around, the flash of her pearly whites indicating that she was attempting to bite at him. Her direction suggested a hind leg, and the boy lifted the leg she was aiming for, kicking out in an attempt to kick her head away from her attack without the strength to severely injure her. If he succeeded, he would pivot his hind quarters away to once again face her. He struck out a foreleg, attempting to knock her across the top of the head and making her disoriented at worst, there was no sense in him hurting an ally.
