Kicking it into gear!

Although she had been spending a lot of time with her new friend lately, Fortune had been careful to avoid seeming absent. Her first encounter with the boy had yielded far more than she had expected, both in a way she didn't understand as well as the amount of fish she brought home for the pack even after halving it with him. She would only continue to sneak more moments with him since then, always being careful to bring something back. Although the scent of the boy lingered on her black and white fur, at least she couldn't say she was just running off to spend time with him.

At Recluse's call, Fortune was quick to leave her small project behind and head for the volcano. She wasn't far behind her mother, whom she found before Recluse at the place they had been called to. She moved in next to her and leaned her shoulder into her slightly by means of a silent reassurance. Her mother was sad, but there was nothing that could be done about it now so she only offered her silent support while they endured whatever brought them up this volcano today.
