sorry times infinity

She'd slunk here feeling like scum of the earth... and in a few ways, she probably was. Stringy little mushrooms had sprouted from her nose and the corners of her eyes. It was awful. Fable snuffled as she went, trying to get a good, deep breath in. But it felt impossible. Every breath was difficult. She hadn't let herself begin to think about what might growing still inside of her. They were a fungus, where did the spores originate from? This was, without a doubt, the worst version of herself. She hated that she'd gotten here from an overblown confidence in her own abilities. Fable had been so certain that she was talented, but she was nothing but a fraud. Dread filled her gut when she'd thought of going home, so she'd taken a detour and decided to go skirt around the mountain instead of taking a more direct route. Maybe by the time she found her way back to Abaven, she'd found a way out of this.
It also wasn't a coincidence that she'd passed by Ashen. Fable hoped that Oki might catch her scent and investigate. It hadn't been so long since they'd parted ways after her incredible soup failure, and now she desperately wanted to apologize. He might understand that she got carried away, but she was almost sick with the thought that he might agree with that cloaked figure: she was a moron. A failure. Fable ambled onwards, occasionally pausing to try and suck down a complete breath with thick, raspy tones.
