Hika leaned against him, and miserably, Mortis wrapped a wing about the other boy. Bringing him in close. Breathing in the scent of him, as much as he could throw the sickness growing in him. The other wolf smelled wrong, as well. Sickly, and strange. Mortis drew in another shaky breath, wishing… wishing things had gone so differently. He took too long admitting to himself and to Hika what the other wolf meant to him, and now it all was for naught.

“I… I don’t know Hika.” he rasped, hiding his head in the other wolfs coat. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” he did not want Hika to die, he would do anything to see his friend well again.
