Test Subject?

Cerberus held Scylla close as she cried and the small girl was glad for the comfort. She was so confused and her thoughts were so muddled and cloudy. Her big brother had the answers though. Or, if he didn't, he was still convincing enough that the blue pup calmed somewhat. A large paw wiped the green liquid from her face and Scylla was content to stay there and let him care for her.

"I wish those lightning bugs would go away," she murmured. "This is all their fault." All of this nastiness hadn't started until after she'd seen the blue glowing lights in the atrium. Maybe, if she hadn't gone out that night; hadn't broken the rules and escaped; maybe if she hadn't seen them and given them attention... maybe this never would have happened. "I want to go home," she whispered, pressing her face into her brother's chest, her mismatched eyes closing, but seeping green into his fur.
