End of the world?

Exploring the lands around was interesting during these times. Mushrooms and crystals she had never seen before sprouted up all over the place. They'd even taken hold of her new companion, a rather large and friendly cat with long black fur. He kind of looked like her, minus the crystallized infection. Celeste hoped that it would all pass soon and that maybe she wouldn't get sick either. So far, she hadn't been infected and thought that possibly because she hadn't been around when it first started.

Carefully finding her way through boughs of willows, her ears tuned into the coarse voice of someone familiar. Curious, the small female turns her path toward him as she slinks through some branches and smiles. "Fancy seeing you here," her accented and a somewhat feminine voice speaks out as she approaches him. Looking around herself at the clusters of mushrooms and dancing fireflies, she shook her head. "Looks like we can't avoid them, huh?" Celeste asks as she reaches out to poke one of the fungi tops gingerly.
