Against all odds Jupiter had so far managed to avoid infection. Perhaps unanticipated by most (and maybe this was his saving grace) he'd more or less quarantined himself at the start of the outbreak. Even he had to admit that was unusual for him. Normally he wouldn't have given a fuck and gone about his business, but those mushrooms synced to his heartbeat had really done his head in. It was really fucking alarming, okay? Any sane person would have taken one look and noped the fuck away from civilization, which is exactly what he had done. He was holed up in a secluded part of the Orchard called Nanaden Bramble most of the time. He'd come out this once to hunt because the only thing that seemed to fill the Bramble was berry bushes and thorns.

Jupiter was on his way back to his hideout with a rabbit hanging from his jaws. His gaze was furtive as he searched for signs of the infected ones. If he had to he would run - literally run - from the bastards. No one was infecting him, nope. He felt no shame over it either. It was more important not to die of crystals or mushrooms than it was to hold onto his dignity.
