Ru still wasn’t sick. He didn’t so much as have a sniffle, but this sickness had taken his dad from him. Rhyme was gone, just like that. No more lessons. No more gentle-stern looks. He was just… gone. In need of some air, Ru fled the pack. Running with all the speed he could muster, feeling the wind in his fur, ripping the tears from his eyes.

He didn’t expect to meet another wolf, his eyes filled with water, he didn’t see her until it was too late. He knocked into her, hard, and half tripped to the ground. He shook out his coat, embarrassed at anyone seeing him cry. ‘Hey!” he snapped angrily “Watch where you're going!” as if he wasn’t the one who had been blinded. Blinking past the tears and the sudden pain, he realised this wolf was sick. Maybe this wolf had given it to his Da. someone had to have, right? He got back to his feet, and with an angry cry, threw himself at the other wolf. Aiming to thwack his paw into her shoulder. It wasn’t a fight so much as an emotional brawl.
