One kiss, bad for me

It was a bit of a chilly night, and he fluffed his fur up to try and keep the bite of the cold air out. His teeth had not yet started to chatter, it wasn't that cold yet, but unless he found somewhere nice and warm to curl up for the night that may end up happening at some point. The bubbling sound of water drew him forward, and he emerged from the treeline to a series of cascading small waterfalls. His head craned backwards to look up at the sight above him. It was basked in the glow of moonlight, giving it a sort of eerie view, and he felt a prickling sensation on the back of his neck, almost like someone was watching him.
Laith turned his head around, green eyes squinting back into the trees he had come from, hoping to catch sight of whatever was giving him the weird feeling, but he could not see anything moving in the darkness. With a soft scoff, he meandered over to the water's edge, looking down at his reflection. A splash of his front paw sent the water rippling, and he quickly drew it back from the flash of coldness that had seared up his paw pads. Nope, it was too fucking cold to get in the water, but perhaps there was a spot somewhere along the cascading waterfalls that was dry enough to sleep next to, and was hopefully hidden from the view of any lurkers.
