He had travelled up north quite a bit, hoping to find some reprieve from the desert-like conditions. It had taken some time, but eventually the ground greened up with more lush grasses, and some ponds popped up here and there where he could easily slake his thirst when needed. But this place, there was something different about it, and he only had to smell the air to figure out why. The scent of old blood was everywhere, and if he looked close enough he could actually see the dried up bloodstains. It seemed this was some type of free-for-all training ground, or perhaps many battles between opposing packs had taken place here in the past. The call for a spar partner from a wolf in the distance grabbed his attention, and he pondered for a few moments before heading towards them. He figured he could do with another brush up of his skills, and this placed seemed as good of a spot as any. Astrophel briskly moved closer until he was close enough to speak without needing to raise his voice, and he dipped his head in greeting. "If it's a spar you want, I'd be happy to oblige." The other wolf was about the same height, but had a much more muscular and heavyset build, and he mentally prepared himself for a spar in which he would have to be the one to move with more agility and speed in order to win. |
