He nodded at the other wolf. Yes, he was prepared well enough for an impromptu spar, maybe a little rusty in some areas, but that was part of the reason why he was here. His skills couldn't be improved upon if he didn't use them, after all. Astrophel squared up his stance, lowering his head to protect his chin, and awaited for the other wolf to make the first move. The sudden leap caught him a bit off guard as he hadn't been expecting such a heavy wolf to move so quickly, but he felt his body move accordingly without too much input from his brain.
Astrophel was able to sidestep the worst of the hit, feeling the other male's shoulder slam more into his own shoulder than his chest, but it still felt like hitting a brick wall, and he felt himself be pushed a little off balance. In dodging he initial attack, he left his side open, and felt teeth graze at the skin of his neck. He immediately began to shake to try and dislodge the grip before his opponent could firmly grab hold, and raised up onto his hind legs with the intention of slamming his front half down atop the other wolf's back. He was lighter in weight, but perhaps he could make the other wolf unsteady enough to stumble, leaving an opening for another attack.
