Oh it was Grandma. Levi liked her, she was soft and nice but not at all smothering like Mum, who just didn't know when to stop or give Levi space. Padding over to her side, he made a face, all furrowed brows and deadpan expression, as she nuzzled him but didn't attempt to worm or wiggle out of the way. Some physical contact was okay, just not too much. The line of his lips pressed thin as he considered her question, he quite liked the idea of beating another adult and knowing Grandma as well he as he did he knew she wouldn't get all mad and huffy if she lost, like some.

"No. You can race me. If I win can I chew your bird?" He'd seen the toucan flying around the other day and decided it's shiny new obsidian beak looked chewable. Like it might have a nice mouth-feel.

Standing just behind the line, Levi waited for his Grandma to utter the countdown before they were off, paws digging into the sand as their bodies sprung into motion. The lady he'd beaten the other day was taller than Granda, more leggy and light. How hard could this be?
