Briar stalked into the plains with Grim, turquoise eyes peeled for any sign of the bear they were tracking. They put a bit of distance between them so that they could sweep a wider path and cover ground more quickly. The faster they found this bear and were able to chase it off the better. Following the scent trail that broke up occasionally in the waving grasses, she finally spotted the back of the large, brown, shaggy bear. It's head was down, apparently devouring some carcass someone had left behind after butchering it. She caught Grim's attention and nodded toward the bear before beginning to circle around so she could get around to the front of it, leaving Grim to go in from the back or sides.

As she half way expected, the bear was covered in crystals, half of its face disfigured with them. When she got around into its line of sight it looked at her and didn't seem to register her presence for a second. Its one good eye looked dazed and it just kept eating off of the already pretty picked over deer carcass. She glanced past it to Grim with a bit of a conflicted glance. Part of her actually felt bad for the poor thing. She half way just wanted to leave it be or maybe at least put it out of its misery, but she supposed they were better off just chasing it off of the territory. The bear finally realized she was there after a few moments and lifted its head, staggering a bit as it roared at her, gross glowing goo dribbling from its mouth.
