She was the dark shadow between the trees, downwind and shadowing her brothers footsteps with silent precision. She couldn’t throw her weight around with him like she could with the others, so she had to try and catch him unawares if she wanted a chance at gaining the upper paw.

The freshly mending wound on her shoulder still ached and pulled, but she drowned the complaints of the injury out by focusing on the task at hand. He was still too aware of the woods around them, the towering red trees that seemed intent on reaching the sky.

And just for a moment his face took on a distant look.

Róta broke from her cover between the trees, dipping and aiming her skull towards her brother’s ribcage with a snarl that spoke of her intent, a wild smile on her face.
