Ashen Empire Tournament Round 1 - Gossamer vs Medusa Race

So far, she wasn't having too much fun. But that was probably to be expected, right? She was a slave. Did the stranger wolves know that? Did everyone else know? She had lost her fight, but at least there was a race she could still do and she wondered what her chances were of winning. Sure she was quick, but she didn't know anything about anyone outside of Habari to know how fast or strong they were compared to her. But then again, she had spent the majority of her life running for survival. So maybe she'd do better here than she did in her spar.

She approached someone that appeared to still be waiting for their opponent, and since it looked like most everyone else had paired up, she figured this girl was her racing partner. She gave a slight wag of her tail, head ticking down as she got ready. "Medusa is ready to race!" She flashed a half-hearted grin, trying to sound enthusiastic but she felt so uncharacteristic right now since Habari had been pretty much breaking her down that it was hard to be her usual self these days.

Giving her opponent time to get ready, she counted to three and took off. Paws carried her as fast as they could across the ground, but all she remained focused on was the goal so that she could just go back to her den and not deal with this festival anymore.
