Hey, Deer Dad

As you shake your head and turn, you find that you are actually on the other side of the river, your antlers heavy with resonating gemstones. You hear everything as clearly as any conversation, and yet somehow it drones out to a calming white noise. It's the ocean waves, and the clinking of seashells. The sound comes from your gems, as if each one is a being of its own. Peering into them, you see a myriad of other wolves, some you think you could almost recognize. In one specifically, you see a familiar figure. Your focus drowns out all the noise as you hear the wolf's voice- your voice. You find yourself back in your own body, just where it was in the gem's reflection. The world feels eerily silent.
