Hints blue gaze surveyed the frozen landscape. She eyed the frozen pillars, most of which looked like they would collapse under the weight of her stare. She slowly turned her head from left to right, memorizing the landscape, trying to calculate which features would be useful to her in the future. Now, a place like this was a little to theatrical for her style, but if necessary she would remember this place to lead another to their death. She didn't have any wolf in mind, which she was thankful for. Being free of clients was quite a blessing, it gave her a moment to herself, an opportunity to explore. But alas, her duty always followed her, and once again she found herself thinking about work.

She placed a dainty white paw on the thin surface of the lake. If a fight wasn't going my way, or I was caught in the act, I bet this could be the key to my getaway. I might be able to skim over the ice, while a heavier wolf will fall through she realized with a smile.

Hint lifted her paw from the delicate ice, backed up a few feet, and then continued along the outskirts of the lake. She suddenly stopped short, and squinted ahead of her. Slumped on the ground was a mass of fur, a gray contrast to the ice. She parted her jaws, and scented the air for the reek of death that she should have noticed earlier. She stared for a moment. Possibly too cold for death scent? she thought. She slowly approached the wolf, walking around with a wide berth to find the face. She noticed intense darker patches of fur around the wolfs eyes, and when she got closer, saw a faint rise and fall of the chest.

She hesitated to go closer. The she-wolf certainly wasn't asleep, but what was she doing? Against her better judgement, she reached out a white forepaw and gently prodded the gray figure. "Hello?" she said loudly, hoping she wouldn't startle the stranger too badly.
