The other wolf responded kindly in turn, even going as far as to offer up a name which brought a smile to Astrophel's face. It was good to see there were other wolves out there as charismatic and friendly as he tried his best to be. "A good day to you. I'm Astrophel," he said with a warm smile. Balthier gave him ample time to prepare, for which Astrophel was thankful for as he did feel a tad rusty, and then the two wolves were off.
His opponent made a direct dash for him, and as they seemed to be of similar build Astrophel gladly met him straight on, feeling the air be pushed out of his lungs as their bodies rammed into each other. Oh, that was a bit more painful than he remembered. He staggered slightly, his momentum carrying him forward even as the force of the shove sent him sideways, but he managed to stay on his feet. Astrophel whipped his body around, baring his teeth even as he felt his lips curl up in a grin. He wasted no time in rushing forward again, wanting to shoulder check the other male in an attempt at a bit of roughhousing. Not all spars needed to be fought with teeth; sometimes brute force was a good tactic too.
