The way his Mother practically soared over the sand made Levi's ears flick back in distaste. She barely looked like she was even trying, flouncing along and enjoying the wind rustling her coat. This was harder than he'd first thought, he was having a hard time keeping pace when she wasn't even really pushing herself, no doubt saving a burst of speed for when they approached the messily drawn finishing line. Digging deep, Levi forced his muscles hard, giving it everything he had as his paws thudded along. Whether it would be enough was yet to be seen, but at least he'd tried, right?
