There had been a time during the early morning hours where Chimera's internal clock woke him so that he could prepare for the day. Normally, he would be up and out the door, ready to run the first patrol of the day. Today would be different, however. Before his eyes opened, he felt the body within his grasp, clutched against his chest. The scent of Erystotle surrounded him and the big brute cracked open his pale pink eye to look down upon the pearlescent form pressed against him. There was work to be done, but he wouldn't ruin this moment or the small man's sleep. Closing his eye, Chimera drifted off once more.

Some time later, the gentle shifting of the other wolf roused Chimera from sleep once more. His eye cracked open again but he made no other move. Erystotle shifted a bit, pressing closer to him and Chi reflexively tightened his grip around the man. They lay there for a time, but Chimera could tell that Erys was awake by the feel of his beating heart that was pressed against his own chest. "We should figure this out," he spoke in a soft, whispering rumble. There had been so much tension in the king due to these feelings that he held for the man. It would be easier to just come out and have the man say what he wanted, right?

Chimera drew back, placing enough space between them so that his gaze could meet the pale silvered eyes of Erystotle. Still holding the small brute to him, he came right out and asked, "What do you want from me?" If it was in his power, Chimera would give it. Had Erys wanted this to happen or had he simply been trapped by Chimera's strength? Did he want what Chi wanted? The man was about to tell him, he hoped.
