There had been rumors spreading through the pack that a war was going to break out. Of course, Dhiren had no idea that such a thing as war existed. He was still wrapped up in the world of his family, where everything was relaxing and peaceful. The only problems he had since birth were play fights he had with Lakota and dealing with nothing but girls every day. His father, the second-in-command behind Jupiter, stuck to his duties as one of the main patrollers, giving him reasons for leaving the den more often than Song. It was because of this frustration that had Dhiren leave the den on his own that day.
He had left his sisters to their own devices, although he had a pang of guilt for not taking Fal-Dara or Novel with him. The six-month-old just needed to have some time to himself, that was all. Was that too much to ask? Dhiren snorted and watched the air from his nose form a very light cloud before fading into the cool atmosphere. Fall was slowly coming to an end, bringing with it colder temperatures and the ugliness of bare tree branches. His outlook on the world that morning was definitely bleary.
Silver and gold bi-colored eyes searched the familiar landscape of Ludicael in front of him. Scents met his nose again like they had before and he began to separate them into individual strands. They didn't hold any interest to him, so he ignored the chances to try and go hunting to instead explore the rest of the land around him. Dhiren didn't even go as far as half a mile when he saw a female with white fur off in the distance. Her scent danced across the cold winds and automatically slapped his nose. Startled, he inhaled and realized it definitely smelled like his mother. Heart rate increased and he grinned widely, racing in her direction. "Mama!" he called, excited to see her out of the den, too.
