He noticed her bewildered look and for a moment felt bad for startling her. But as her bobbed tail gave a wiggle and she smiled in his direction, Kuroo took that as a good thing. His own tail swished happily behind him as he smiled back with his eyes moving now toward the water. Watching the fish dart in and out of the root growth with a hazy cloud of mud in their wake, he could feel himself begin to focus in.

"Nice to meet ya, Nami! I'm Kuroo," he said back pleasantly, eyes only flitting to her for a moment before going back toward the water. "Should be easy enough to catch some of these guys," his words were chipper as he was glad for the company himself. As he allowed his body to go still, he listened to the silence that fell around them. Both pale pink eyes on the shimmering surface, he waited a few moments for the perfect opportunity.

Suddenly, he saw his opening and let his paws slide slowly off of the root he was perched on. Being as still and as careful as he could be, the silt beneath the water began to shift as his paws sunk in. Bracing himself for the chilliness, he made sure not to move too much. As he let the mud settle, he could see the fish swimming quickly in and out of his legs. How they didn't realize he wasn't a root was beyond him. No matter, he took this as his opportunity to dive nose first and snatch a fish before it could get away. When he brought his dripping wet muzzle back up, he turned to glance at Nami to see if she too had been successful.

kuroo's tamarin, saru, should be assumed near/on him at all times.
