Cupid's Arrow

Excitement bubbles inside Fern, adding some extra bounce to her steps as she walks through the carnival. Coydog call out around her, pulling her attention from one colorful booth to the next. Rudy and Fern make their way to the gaming booths and a particularly flamboyant one with glittery balloons has the gray girl leaving Rudy’s side to step up and try her luck. The line isn’t terribly long and Fern soon finds herself at the front. Looking to booth’s operator, she happily chirps, “Wish me luck!” before turning her focus to the colorful, glittery inflatables. Reaching down, Fern picks up a dart between her toes, pickling it up and pulling her leg back in anticipation of the throw. Squinting her eyes, tongue sticking out the side of her mouth in concentration, the gray girl takes time to try and lines up her shot. Taking a deep breath, she hurls the dart toward the balloons. Anxious eyes turning to the coydog, waiting to see if she has won anything.
