Cupid's Arrow

She followed her mom and great grandmother into the festival, uncertainty rather than joy playing on her features. She hadn’t ever seen a crowd so big before. It was kind of uncomfortable. She shrank inwards on herself, having always been a shy girl. She hadn’t really ever grown out of it. Sheepishly she made her way through the throngs of wolves towards the carnival games. She didn’t recognize her uncle like her mother did, but she followed her lead anyway and avoided that part of the booth. When her mother was finished Shae was given a dart, and carefully she threw it to hopefully pop a balloon.
