Duck Pond

Deep breaths. She had to keep reminding herself. Family were near, she had nothing to worry about. They wouldn’t lose her again. She wouldn’t get lost again. She was safe, and nobody was here to hurt her.
She flinched away when someone stepped to close and straight through the friendly little gate up to the pool of little ducks. Her tail gave a tentative wave. This was safer than the loud popping of balloons or rings flying through the air. This was something she could manage. With an uncertain smile, she dipped her head and delicately fished one of the ducks from the pond, offering it to the attendant and thinking this little stall was prize enough just by offering some respite from the crush of bodies and noise outside.

The hound-like coydog dances in excitement at your win, his long tongue lolling out. ”Let’s see what you won!” he yelps, flipping over the duck.
