Ring Toss

Takeshi had taken to sticking around Ashen after his father’s sudden betrayal and leave. It had taken the floor out from underneath all of them, and the yearling, ever the shoulder to lean on and the peacekeeper, felt it was his responsibility to mend them back together. But, his mother had shooed him out of Ashen, telling him to go to the carnival and ‘be a kid’. Really, it was amusing because the Ashen Dragon had never really acted like a normal kid. He’d had a soft heart his entire life and a drive to help his family that had left him acting more reserved and mature than others his age. But, if it made his mom feel better then he would go.

The glowing boy meandered through the stalls, eyeing them with vague curiosity. He’d decided he would participate in at least one and bring back the prize to show Venom as proof that he’d done as she’d asked. In the end, he decided on the ring toss. He walked up to the booth and offered a word of greeting to the coydog that manned it before grabbing a ring in his mouth, turning his head before flinging it forward and releasing it, watching it sail into the air and waiting to see if it landed over a dowel.
