Birna folded the hide and after gingerly picking it up in her jaws she moved to the edge of the festival to work on tanning the hide. It was a mule deer hide and she didn't know yet what she wished to do with it. She had a number of hides to line her den now so this one she planned to use to craft something, maybe as a gift for her tournament partner. She wasn't quite sure yet.

Birna found a good place to set up shop and she laid out the hide with the fur side down and the flesh side up. Moving a few rocks onto each corner she used a scapula and her dexterous paws to scrap at the hide, occasionally pausing to use her sandpaper tongue to clean off the excess fat and flesh.
