What Family Is All About

OOC-- A simple picnic for all of Fenmyre to come together, mingle, be thankful for what they've got, and to help Chimera refurbish an old beaver dam into a big den for anyone to use.--

The morning had been spent carting food from the island to the edge of the little river. A modest feast had been laid out on flat rocks and wide logs. The rain had held off for a few days so the green grasses were dry and sun-warmed. Perfect resting places for the wolves of Fenmyre. The tall reaching aspens spread their branches above, creating shade for those needing to retreat from that very same sun. Chimera looked forward to have his pack together in one place. He hoped that they could all enjoy it.

Word had been sent to each pack member, letting them know of the place, though there wasn't a set time. This was to be an all day gathering. The King of Fenmyre was hard at work, as usual. He'd discovered an old abandoned beaver den. With the river directed elsewhere by other dams, this one was high off the ground and quite dry. It was a pity to leave such a construction to waste, so Chimera had decided to refurbish it. He had been working on digging out the ground within the structure so that he could lay down a floor of soft saplings. To reinforce the internal structure of the crisscrossing trees and branches, ties had been put into place. Sturdy roping to hold everything together with no fear of collapse. When the dwelling was finished, it would be a second place for the wolves of Fenmyre to enjoy at their leisure as it as no secret that some of them were getting tired of being stuck on the island.

With half a day of work done, Chimera decided that it was time for a break. The giant man ducked out of the dam and moved towards the rest of the group after rinsing off his paws in the cool river water. The two-toned giant unceremoniously threw himself into the soft, warm grass, giving his long body a stretch. Soon he would fill his belly with the feast that had been prepared, but for now he would rest and spend time with his family and packmates.
