Kestrel |
Something would disturb her peaceful night. The water would crash lightly upon the rocks she sat on, gently coating her fur with a thin layer of sparkling mist. Each drop seemed to contain a reflected star. She would turn her head to look at the droplets upon her fur, and that's when she noticed the dark woman coming towards her. Kestrel looked up at her with guarded green eyes, rising stiffly to her feet as she took a step or two back from the woman. She knew this area very well, she traversed it nearly every night and in the early mornings. She knew the crevices and passages within these rocks and boulders, but with the tide as high as it was now, she couldn't slip into the crevices to hide or escape. She stared quietly at the woman, a questioning look in her eyes. She figured that it was possible for her to run by her, or even risk bounding down the boulders into the water and swim the short distance to shore. Instead, she would stand her ground...though kept light on her toes should the woman try to lunge at her. Mute Thoughts You |
