What Family Is All About

When Chimera had told her of his plans to renovate an old beaver dam into a sanctuary of sorts for the wolves of Fenmyre away from the main island, Aliana had instantly begun coming up with plans for how to help reinforce the integrity of the structure while also coming up with ideas of how to improve what the beavers had already created. She'd headed out to the area Chimera described in the aspen forest a couple days before to study the structure before coming up with some schematics of her own, so when the day finally came, she could assist her king and mate in renovating it to all their desires. Just as she'd done with the beehives back in Ashen, Ali came up with some rudimentary designs and drawings, and she brought them along with her half dozen brood of sons to the picnic Chimera had set up for all of them.

While she and Chimera worked, she asked Siren, Dalila, and Erystotle to keep an eye on the boys. They were all rambunctious and high energy on a good day, but for their first time off the island, she imagined the boys would be manic. While Chi handled the majority of the heavy labor parts of their contracting work, Aliana held the sketches she'd made and began to remove small portions of the old logs of the dam to make small windows for ventilation in the sides of the dam. If she had any guesses about what Chimera would want to use this place for, ventilation would be heavily required. Ali had brought a few pelts from Fenmyre's stores to adorn the inside of the space with once Chi had laid out the floor of saplings, furnishing the interior with basic bedding.

When Chimera went off to take a break, Aliana stepped outside to join him, moving over to settle onto the soft grasses while she looked over her schematics again. She still wanted to dig out a drainage system around the dam so if any of Auster's heavy rains hit, it wouldn't risk getting flooded. Every so often Ali would look up from her designs, then sweep her aquamarine eyes around to find all of her children, making sure they were still present and safe before repeating the process again. "This is coming along very well so far," she said with a grin over to Chimera. Then the queen turned her attention to their children, watching Orthrus as he explored the new terrain. "Are you finding anything interesting, sweetheart?" she called out to the dark-furred pup.
