Never Smile At A Crocodile

Fern is retreating as the beast charges her when, suddenly, a small blue blur latches itself onto the crocodile’s back. Oh shit. Is that a pup? As the angry thing thrashes about, Fern alters her path to return to the angry dinosaur, pulling the wooden training sword from the scabbard on her back. The pup unsheathes a dagger and sinks it into a thick back leg and Fern silently thanks whoever gave the pup that dagger. The beast thrashes harder and Fern takes the opportunity to rush into the crocodile’s space, swinging the wooden sword to catch the crocodile under its jaw. The blow stuns the thing for a moment Fern backs away a few steps to reposition the sword in her mouth as she eyes the pup and the angry beast.
