Is there anybody in there?

Jian padded around the outside of their den, pacing back and forth. Ever since the fight that her mother had been in and not knowing where they were going to live and now they're staying after all and, and... Jian sighed, her ears flicking uneasily. Everything had been so weird lately. Nothing felt the same. She wished everything would go back to normal and they would have their pack again and mom wouldn't be all hurt and they would have a real home.

Her miss-matched paws crunched through the dead grass, lost in her own thoughts. It was freezing outside, but Jian wasn't paying it any attention. She finally lifted her eyes from the ground to look for her siblings, her mother, anyone. Even Dempsey. She just wanted to know someone else was around. It felt like such a big, empty, cold world now when she was alone.
