Usagi realized his sharp, fierce kick could’ve left him wide open for that precious few seconds - seconds that the spry woman took with great ease. As the dark slender femme rose on her hind legs to brace for a pounce, even the light-footed koi couldn’t quite escape the fury of her flurry of limbs. He managed to take a firm blow or two, blades grazing his cheek and sprouting a small bead of blood, before whirling his upper body almost behind him, lower body following in a sort of half-somersault to avoid any more damage and get back. Still feeling the sting of the woman’s flicked blades, his chartruse gaze caught the moment she leapt back to increase distance, soon swiftly pivoting his body so as to follow behind. He preferred close combat - a simple dance from afar wouldn’t do.

As she swiftly pounced back, Usagi took a second to observe a moment in time where she’d be unbalanced, perhaps if she were to only have half her body standing in the earth. Quickly, the male charged forward like a rocket - less bunny, more torpedo. He aimed to give a firm but unharmful blow to her abdomen with the top of his cranium in the hopes of throwing her back a small distance, if not toppling her over entirely. He wasn’t intent on leaping back unless her own counterattack asked for it.
