Too Big For Our Britches

Birna swiped visciously at the hyena, striking it across the face and diverting those dangerous jaws. The hyena yelped then snarled and dove again. Birna leapt out of the way. The hyena was fast but she was faster and could leap in ways the hyena could only dream about. It twisted and charged again and once more her claws shredded its face, piercing one of its eyes. The hyena howled and stumbled, backing up for a moment before turning to run. Birna let it go. There was a fair chance this was a small scouting party and mayhaps the lone survivor would carry back a message of warning to those that would go after pups in these lands.
