catch a tiger by its toe

Athena patrols the island that has become her home, amber eyes searching for any danger. The wind shifts, bringing with it the scent of a tiger. Carefully the earthen-hued wolf changes direction, working to sneak up on the large beast. On silent paws she stalks the large cat, arriving to find the creature’s attention captured by… eyes flick over to the pale pup and Athena knows he is part of Chimera’s brood. The male pup seems blissfully unaware of the death that stalks him, just as the cat is unaware of silent pain that waits its shadow.

Without a sound, the earthen wolf rushes forward, lightly leaping onto the tiger’s back to clamp her teeth on to the tiger’s right shoulder. It yowls in surprise in pain and Athena growls and thrashes her head, trying to inflict as much pain as possible on the cat. Paws brace against the large frame of the tiger as the feline starts to fight back.
