Distracted by the search for a suitable hunting target, he nearly jumped at the whisper from the cat. Glancing over his shoulder to her, he smiled with a wag of his tail. Remembering her from the previous hunt, he nodded quickly. "I see an older calf not far off," Kuroo whispered back as he turned to nudge his nose in the direction of the herd. Toward the outskirts, a mother and her calf grazed without any notion of the two predators lurking nearby. Feeling it would be an easy target, Kuroo glanced once more at the feline before making his way toward the duo. The younger bovine seemed weaned off of its mother which would make it easy to separate the two.

Determined to make this hunt successful, Kuroo wound a careful path through the grass until they were side by side of the pair. Waiting a few moments until the wind died down, he nodded once more toward the feline before taking the lead. Bursting from the brush, he rushed at the younger cow with teeth curling out from his lips. The herd quickly noticed with the drum of his paws beating at the ground, but not quick enough. Kuroo chased the younger cow down until he could leap up and take ahold of the cow's haunches. It was bigger than he had expected but would be enough for the two of them. Digging in his paws to try and stop it from continuing on, he dug in his teeth and waited for Birna to make her attack.
